How SoNear works

SoNear is a Solana launchpad with NEAR built in. Launch with only a Solana wallet, and with one checkbox the same coin also trades on NEAR.

What is SoNear#

A launchpad on Solana with a bridge to NEAR built in. Coins launch on Meteora's Dynamic Bonding Curve, one of the largest launch systems on Solana. With Also on NEAR, the Omni Bridge (run by the NEAR ecosystem) gives the same coin a real, one to one backed version on NEAR, and SoNear opens a pool for it on Rhea, NEAR's largest exchange.

Solana and NEAR#

Every coin is born on Solana, so all you need is a Solana wallet and a little SOL. Tick Also on NEAR when you launch, and the same coin goes live on NEAR too: traders on both chains can buy it. You never need a NEAR wallet or NEAR tokens, SoNear handles that side.

Launching a coin#

  1. Connect a Solana wallet and open Launch.
  2. Enter name, ticker and image. Description and socials are optional.
  3. Optionally set a first buy in SOL. It lands in the same transaction as the launch, so nobody can buy before you.
  4. Keep Also on NEAR ticked if you want the coin on NEAR too (needs a first buy of at least 0.05 SOL).
  5. Sign once in your wallet. The coin is live and tradeable the moment the transaction lands.

Also on NEAR#

After the launch, the coin page walks you through it. Only your Solana wallet signs:

  1. Register the coin with the bridge: one Solana signature, about 0.0015 SOL. SoNear then creates the NEAR version, usually in 1 to 3 minutes.
  2. Send part of your first buy to NEAR: one Solana signature, bridge fee about 0.0001 SOL. It arrives in a few minutes.
  3. SoNear opens the pool on Rhea at the Solana price. From then on the coin trades on both chains.

SoNear pays all NEAR costs and keeps the NEAR pool's trading fees. You can close the page at any time, it picks up where you left off.

The bonding curve (Solana)#

All 1,000,000,000 tokens start on the curve. There is no presale and no team allocation. Every buy moves the price up along the curve, every sell moves it down. A new coin starts at a market cap of about 30 SOL.

Graduation#

When about 86 SOL has been bought into the curve (a market cap of roughly 400 SOL), the coin graduates. Meteora moves it automatically into a Meteora pool with a 1% pool fee. The liquidity of that pool is locked permanently: 75% belongs to the creator, 25% to SoNear, and neither can withdraw it. The locked position keeps earning trading fees for both.

Fees#

Every trade on the curve pays a 1% fee in SOL. It is split on chain, automatically:

Creator0.6% of each trade
Meteora (protocol)0.2% of each trade
SoNear0.2% of each trade
LaunchingFree (only Solana rent, about 0.01 SOL)

After graduation the Meteora pool charges its own 1% fee, which goes to the locked liquidity (creator 75%, SoNear 25%) after Meteora's protocol share.

Creator fees#

Your share collects in SOL on chain. Open Fees, connect the wallet you launched with and press Claim. You can claim as often as you like; you only pay the network fee.

Token facts#

  • Standard SPL token on Solana, 6 decimals, supply fixed at 1 billion.
  • No mint authority: nobody can create more tokens.
  • Metadata is immutable: name, ticker and image cannot be changed after launch.
  • Traded against SOL. All fees are paid in SOL.

Connecting the chains#

The Omni Bridge locks tokens on one chain and issues the same amount on the other, so the bridged version is backed one to one and can always be sent back. It is the same coin, trading in two places.

Good to know: the price on the two chains can differ for a while, until traders even it out. Moving tokens between the chains takes a few minutes each way.

Safety and risks#

SoNear never holds your funds. Every transaction is built for your wallet and you sign it yourself; the tokens and SOL live in Meteora's programs and in your wallet. Memecoins are extremely risky and most go to zero. Anyone can launch anything, so check what you buy. Nothing on SoNear is investment advice.

FAQ#

Which wallet do I need?
Only a Solana wallet, for example Phantom or Solflare, with a little SOL. You do not need a NEAR wallet or any NEAR, not even for Also on NEAR.
What does a launch cost?
SoNear charges nothing. You pay Solana rent and network fees, about 0.01 SOL, plus your first buy if you want one. Also on NEAR adds about 0.002 SOL in bridge costs; SoNear pays everything on the NEAR side.
Who owns the NEAR pool?
SoNear opens the Rhea pool with the tokens you send over, pays its NEAR costs and keeps its trading fees. Your creator fees come from the Solana side, where most of the trading happens.
Can I launch without buying?
Yes. The first buy is optional. It exists so you can get in at the very first price, in the same transaction, before anyone else.
Can the creator pull the liquidity?
No. While on the curve the SOL sits in the Meteora program, not with the creator. After graduation the pool liquidity is locked permanently. The creator can of course sell tokens they bought, like anyone else.
Can someone mint more tokens or change the name?
No. Mint and metadata authority are removed at launch. The supply is fixed at 1 billion.
Where do I see my coin after launching?
On the SoNear board, and on any Solana explorer or tracker that indexes Meteora pools, for example GeckoTerminal, DexScreener, Axiom or Photon.
What happens if a coin never graduates?
It keeps trading on the curve for as long as people buy and sell. Nothing expires.
Does SoNear hold my money?
No. Every transaction is built for your wallet and you sign it yourself. Funds move only inside Meteora's programs and your own wallet.
